Rosabianca Vineyards Profile

Written by Brian—May 17, 2019

As of this writing, Rosabianca Vineyards has been open for just over five years. Charlie Rosabianca purchased the Northford, Connecticut property with an eye toward making wine and subsequently planted three acres of Seyval Blanc, Cayuga, Marquette and Aromella (a winter-hearty white hybrid). The gravel and loam soil provided good drainage and the success of the early planting led to plans for another three acres of site-appropriate grapes varieties.

The first Rosabianca vintage was bottled in 2013 and the location quickly became a draw for local clientele, but patrons are drawn from other parts of New England and New York. Cayuga is the most popular estate grape and Seyval is a close second.

The winery will remain a boutique, family-owned operation with near-term improvements focused largely on customer experience. Plans for a new tasting room are being developed that will provide a more “European” look and experience.

Charlie and his family invite guests to stop by Rosabianca Vineyards for a tasting or attend one of the special events like yoga, cigar night or lobster night.
